Hello everyone! I hope this email finds you amongst an array of cupcakes and sugary goodness. =) As some of you may know, our amazing and talented organizer, Cheryl (aka Chockylit), has handed over the logistical powers for our wonderful meetup group. In hopes of re-acquainting ourselves with each other, meeting all of our new members, and enjoying some warm weather, I've organized a Summer meetup. The meetup will be at Dolores Park on Sunday, June 7th at 2:00 p.m. Similar to our past meetups, I encourage you all to bring a dozen cupcakes to swap and share. I also request that you bring a copy of the recipe you used, or another that you recommend (let's share our knowledge!). Lastly, to lend inspiration to your baking prowess - I've selected the theme of "sweet and savory" for our meetup. I'm sure we are all curious to see (and taste!) each others creations. Hi, All! It's finally time for the summer cupcake meet-up. Hey, it's in September, but isn't that really the start of summer for San Francisco anyway? Where: Justin Herman Plaza at the foot of Market Street, across from the Ferry Building
When: Saturday, September 6th, 2pm This is a bake and take type meet-up where you are welcome to bake up a batch of cupcakes and bring them to share. If you aren't a baker but more of an eater, then you are welcome to purchase some from your favorite bakery. Or just stop by with a jug of milk! Whatever works! Based on the first big meet-up there will be plenty of cupcakes to go around so don't bring more than 12. For those of you baking your own, please read the following! This time we are asking you bake-and-takers to please bring some copies of the recipe you used to share with others.
We will be hosting an optional judging for best cupcake around 2:45pm. When you arrive, look for me so you can add one of your cupcakes to the judging pool.
The prize for best cupcake will be a cupcake starter kit (chockylit-style) including a half sheet pan, package of 250 of my signature cupcake cups, an ice cream scoop, a large pastry bag, and a large pastry tip (required for the perfect cupcake swirl). Let's meet by the raised band area (if there is no band playing) or on the grass just behind it. Justin Herman Plaza is very accessible for those of you scattered around the bay. It's just outside the Embarcadero Bart towards the Ferry Building and to your left. There are plenty of places to grab a beverage or a savory snack. This meet-up is co-hosted by me and Rina, member extraordinaire. We will both be there a bit before 2pm. Hope to see you there!

Time again for a mini-meetup. This time in Marin and hosted my Marin resident and meetup member, Angie. They definitely have cupcakes at this bakery? Anyways, hope to see you there. I am going to try to make it, but no guarantees just yet. Thanks!

This meeting is for folks to sign-up for the cupcake swap portion of the meetup only. I am setting the limit to 12. If you sign up that means you are promising to bring 12 cupcakes to swap with 12 other people. So, you will end up with 12 different cupcakes including 1 of your own. You can do whatever you want with the cupcakes. Eat them all, bring them home, bring them to work, share them at the meetup, give them away. Whatever you so please! If you don't want to swap but want to bring cupcakes then just bring them! (but don't sign up for the swap. If you want to come empty handed but hope to eat a cupcake, chances are you will be able to. I am sure there will be some extras floating around. So with any luck everyone will come and leave a happy cupcake camper.

I am opening this up to more folks and revising the plan of meeting at a local cupcakery to meeting somewhere else and bringing our own cupcakes. I am proposing Dolores Park assuming it will be a great day... Note: There is no limit to how many folks can sign up. We will park it by the little bundle of trees to the left of the tennis courts. This provides easy access to Dolores Park Cafe for drinks or whatever. Bring something to sit on... like a blanket or chair. Click for the map...
