Essential Chocolate was one of the winners in the Cupcake Challenge a few months ago for their Blood Orange Fudge cupcake. This bakery and coffee house provides handmade desserts, muffins and specialty baked goods to cafes and restaurants throughout Los Angeles--The Abbey, Alcove, Aroma, Sunset Marquis and Pit Fire Pizza.

Their "Jumbo" sized cupcakes are normally $4/each, but we're getting a special group price of $3.50, they will also be having some new flavors:


  • Dulce De Leche
  • Lemon Raspberry
  • Coconut

    I tasted a few cupcakes, the Dulce de Leche one, the carrot, and the chocolate orange (Tara's Fav!). The dulce de leche icing was divine, but the cake itself a bit dry for my taste buds. The chocolate cake was moist...

    I just had one of Melissa (the owner of Essential Choc) cupcakes the other day and it was so moist and yummy. Wish I could be at two places at once so I could join you all. have fun :) Laura

I shared with my sister and mother said the cake was moist and frosting just right! But their Best is one we did not taste. It was the Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Espresso Ganache over Chocolate Buttercream I tasted 8/2 - 2 weeks earlier at their Surfas Co Demo down the street. ”
