Come to a local Wine Meetup to taste new wines, learn about noses and legs, and discuss great vintages and estates. Everyone's welcome, from new bouquet-sniffers to educated connoisseurs. This group is for people who love to cook good food - or would like to learn how - in a group setting! We meet at a host's house (anybody can host - we'll do this in turns, but no obligations) and each person brings ingredients for and cooks a part of the meal (appetizer / entree / dessert). Cookware is provided by the host. We will do this by theme - Italian, Indian, 15-minute-or-less, French, Mexican, Dessert only, and any others that members suggest. We then pair the food with great wine and …

… When calculating what you owe for your part of the bill please add up everything you ordered from drinks to entrees to desserts and add 30%. This additional amount will cover taxes and tip. For example, if you ordered $30 worth of drinks and food, $30 x 30% = $9.00 for a total of $39 due for your meal. If you do not agree with this policy -- don't sign up for restaurant events. 3. If there is a discrepancy of funds (meaning someone didn't pay for their fair share and the total is falling shor …

… These books are picked and discussed by our member group, both through polls and at our meetups over a cup of hot chocolate, a cup of coffee and dessert or a light dinner. The idea is to have fun, increase our literary knowledge, and brush up on our French, This group is recommended for people who are comfortable speaking in French (no need to be perfect).

This group is for people who want to experience many Asian foods and drinks with a focus on pub style cuisine. There are many Japanese/Asian Culture exchange groups, good ones too so why make another? Well I haven't seen any with the focus I would like on Asian pubs. Mainly basement sake bars and yakitori spots. But Izakaya is an umbrella group description as I have other events planned outside what would be described as an Izakaya. Things like tea & dessert, Korean BBQ, any local Far East event …

… We romp around the globe, pairing up foreign (sometimes just indie) films with foreign wines, and sometimes beer, vodka and whiskey, (hey...apparently they can't grow grapes in Denmark), along with appetizers, side dishes and desserts. Due to space limitations, and to create an environment where everyone really gets a chance to talk to one another, our events are typically limited to 8 - 10 guests, who each come on their own. This venue is a wonderful way to meet new people who share the sa …
… This includes dessert. We don’t care whether it is sushi or a quarter pounder cheeseburger but it must be split in half. Today waitresses are more than happy to split the Entré onto separate plates. Most restaurants servings are too big anyway. This could have an additional benefit of reducing your cost of eating out and making new friends and of course reducing your daily calorie intake so you can become more METAFIT.
